Terrariums

Self-sustaining · Built by hand · Made to order

Anyone can put a plant in a bowl.

Not everyone can make it feel like a forest.

A Queen Bee Greenscapes closed terrarium is a sealed, self-sustaining living landscape. The moisture cycles. The plants grow. The tiny world inside takes care of itself. All it needs is bright indirect light and the occasional top-up of water, a tablespoon every few months. Lid on and admire it.

Forest Floor

The forest floor terrarium is Tanya's hero product. A miniature landscape built to feel like the real thing, right down to the texture of the soil, the hang of the moss, and the way light moves through the glass.

The signature feature of every forest floor build is the vertical moss wall. Sculpted directly onto the glass using Terra-putty, a handmade terrarium clay Tanya developed herself, the wall creates a living, dimensional backdrop for the landscape below. Natural materials gathered on walks through the bush are placed by hand to create a scene that feels settled, real, and completely one of a kind.

No two forest floor terrariums are ever the same.

Enchanted Forest

An enchanted forest terrarium begins with the same hand-sculpted moss wall and naturalistic layering as the forest floor range. Then it goes somewhere else entirely.

A door appears in the moss wall. A path winds toward it through ferns and stepping stones, disappearing into the green. The whole scene feels like the entrance to somewhere you'd very much like to go.

This is the style for people who want their terrarium to feel like a story. Same sealed, self-sustaining build as the forest floor range, with almost no maintenance required.

Closed Tropical

For the lover of lush, vivid tropical greenery, sealed inside glass and left to thrive.

Closed tropical terrariums are planted with humidity-loving species: fittonias, ferns, peperomias, pilea, and small philodendrons. The result is a dense, jewel-like living landscape that grows and changes over time. The sealed environment keeps humidity high and maintenance beautifully low.

What every closed terrarium includes

Every closed terrarium is made to order in pre-loved glass where possible, with Tanya's hand-mixed soil, sustainably foraged natural materials, and springtails, the tiny beneficial micro-fauna that keep a closed ecosystem healthy long-term.

A note on light

All terrariums need bright indirect light. A well-lit room where natural light comes through without direct sun on the glass is ideal. Direct sunlight will overheat the plants regardless of species, so please keep all terrariums away from direct sun. If your space is darker, a USB LED display light works beautifully. Tanya stocks a suitable one in her accessories range.

Orders & Pickup

All closed terrariums are made to order and available for local pickup in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.

KIND WORDS

"I was so nervous about keeping it alive but Tanya explained exactly what to do and honestly, I've barely had to do anything. It just sits on my shelf looking absolutely magical. Worth every cent."
